Medical Plastic & Equipment Manufacturer

From simple mouldings to complex plastic assemblies involving multi-process, Ansini has the capability to design and manufacture a wide range of vacuum-formed plastic parts and products suitable for the medical and healthcare sectors.

As plastic medical device manufacturers, we work with the latest industry standard materials and machinery to produce high quality vacuum formed products, tailored to our clients exact requirements. Our experienced design and engineering team can advise on all aspects of the medical parts manufacturing process, ensuring that your design concept becomes a reality.

Working in collaboration with our parent company, ASG, we are able to further extend our medical parts manufacturing capabilities for products in this sector, including tube manipulation, steel and aluminium fabrication, assembly, and kit building.

What are medical-grade plastics?

Medical-grade plastic refers to plastics that are designed to make medical products and devices. Medical plastic can also be used for manufacturing products in vitro diagnostics and in primary packaging for pharmaceuticals, as this helps preserve medicines against contamination.

Medical-grade plastic is also high wear, temperature resistant and corrosion resistant due to the frequent sterilisation cycles.

Medical plastics are durable and shatter-proof, this makes them long-lasting and a safe option to use when transporting medical equipment. Furthermore, when used in blister packs and other pharmaceutical packing, they help ensure that tablets haven’t been opened or tampered with.

Rislan® Active Antimicrobial Coating

Additionally, ASG is one of only a handful of companies entrusted to apply the exclusive Rilsan® Active antimicrobial coating, which is an NHS approved finish. This coating is designed to help control the risk of infection, especially in areas where high standards of hygiene and cleanliness are required.

What is anti-microbial coating?

As we live in a world where diseases, viruses and infections can spread easily from surfaces and other (sometimes unlikely) materials, antimicrobial coatings are specifically designed and applied to restrict the ability for microorganisms to grow and survive on surfaces.

Why are antimicrobial coatings important?

Naturally, this has been used across several medical and clinical industries where hygiene is a key priority to ensure the health and well-being of staff and patients, to prevent infection. Hundreds of thousands of deaths occur every year across the globe due to infections from untreated hospital utensils and devices.

The Process behind our medical devices

When designing and manufacturing medical devices, we use a process called plastic vacuum forming. We tend to use this process instead of injection moulding for a couple of reasons.

Firstly, plastic vacuum forming is suitable for small, medium, and very large batch production. So, if you’re wondering what type of restrictions there may be in regards to the quantity of products to produce, vacuum forming is capable of producing low and high volumes.

We believe vacuum forming is quicker and more cost effective than the common injection moulding process. Vacuum forming medical products also allows you to create branded items due to various design options and capabilities.

If you would like to learn more about vacuum forming, we have created a useful guide on the differences between vacuum forming and injection moulding.

How does our service benefit the medical sector?

The medical sector is one of the many sectors we have the highest expectations of, which is why it’s incredibly important to create products and devices that have been manufactured with appropriate conditions to ensure they’re met by safety standards.

Through our medical plastic vacuum formed process and service, we can create a range of medical items which are essential for day-to-day life within a hospital, doctors’ surgery and even a dental clinic.

Why choose Ansini for your medical device needs?

That is not all; our medical products are designed and manufactured to have certain qualities that will provide longevity to your devices. As these products will be used daily, it is important they are durable and can be easily sterilised.

With the addition of our access to Rilsan® Active antimicrobial coating, your devices will have a much better resistance to elements such as heat and potentially hazardous chemicals.

We are also an ISO 9001:2015 accredited company, which ensures the medical devices we manufacture meet certain standards.
